PITCHSHIFTER Singer Talks About Upcoming Tour And DVD
August 7, 2004PITCHSHIFTER frontman J.S. Clayden recently spoke to BandsXposure.com about the group's upcoming DVD/tour and their future plans. The brief question-and-answer session follows:
BandsXposure.com: What songs we might expect to hear on the forthcoming DVD?
J.S. Clayden: "The DVD features 13 live tracks from PITCHSHIFTER featuring all the 'classics' like 'Genius', 'Microwaved' & 'Please Sir'. Check out www.psirecords.com or www.pitchshifter.com for more details. The gig was filmed at a Nottingham show in front of the band's home crowd. it was our home-coming gig after a tour of the USA. Nottingham is PITCHSHIFTER's spiritual home and it made sense to use that show for the DVD. The upcoming tour will be a cross-section of PITCHSHIFTER tunes. We always just pick the songs we love to play the most live."
BandsXposure.com: Is it the original PITCHSHIFTER lineup?
J.S. Clayden: "Hell no! Lol. You would have to do some detective work to get the original, original lineup of PITCHSHIFTER on the road. We all parted ways years ago and to be honest, only since we've had Jason Bowld in the band have we had what Mark and I feel is the full compliment of PITCHSHIFTER. For the DVD release parties it's going to be the last incarnation of the band (which was great fun on the road and I think those guys deserve to do this run): myself on vox, Mark Clayden on bass, Jason Bowld on drums and the Rayner brothers Dan & Tim on guitars."
BandsXposure.com: Future plans after the PITCHSHIFTER tour?
J.S. Clayden: "PITCHSHIFTER will go back to hiding but there are other things in the pipeline. PSI Records is gearing up for its first non-'SHIFTER release called THIS IS MENACE. i can't tell you any more right now except this: it's heavy as hell and made by some familiar faces. Keep an eye on www.psirecords.com for more info. Also in the pipeline is my new band DOHENY. DOHENY is an L.A. based band with myself on vox. We've been getting some airplay in L.A. and gigging around. DOHENY is totally different to PITCHSHIFTER (no samples!),but it's still rocking."
